Is the White Shadow the premiere TV series of the late seventies for the viewers aged 18 +?

I was barely a teen in the late 70's and I loved that show, also Family, with Kristy Mc Nichol & Meridith Baxter-Birney, the Mary Tyler Moore Show....some good TV shows back then!
