Well, as his friend it's your job to help him get over her - but if he doesn't want to do that, there's nothing more you can do :/ Take him out, show him a good time, take his mind off her. And you've already told him you're there for him, that helps. But ultimately he's the only one who can sort out his feelings, you can only help him on his way if he'll let you.
