Is He Still Married?

I have been dating this guy for 8 months. When we met he told me that he was previously married and after many conversations about his ex, he never said that they were divorced. I asked and he gave me a very suspect story about the divorce procedure. I went along with it even though it didnt sound right and decided to keep my ears open for any inconsistencies. Well after 3 mths, I am really questioning his status. He has children with his "ex" and goes to see them weekly, however when I met him, he told me that he and his "ex" were not talking and that she did not know where his new apt was. Now, she has supposedly showed up unannouced at 1am, asked him to go on an overnight trip with her and texts him regularly. They were married for 19 yrs and I suspect that they may just be separated. I did a little bit of research at the county courthouse where he told me the divorce took place and needless to say, there was no filing. I am tempted to keep investigating until I have proof.
